A V-shaped strap intricately woven with fine braids and a Tassel (Gonda) attached to the V-shaped strap in which golden rings are pierced. Then a V-shaped strap is attached to the kapshi sole. This style of Chappal was worn by ‘Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj’ of Kolhapur and since, it has been called as ‘Maharaja’ chappal meaning the footwear of a king.
