A V-shaped strap heavily embedded with various punches and stamp impressions, including golden rivets and a Tassel (Gonda) attached to the V-shaped strap in which golden rings are pierced. Then a V-shaped strap is attached to the upward curved sole. This style of Chappal was worn by ‘Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj’ of Kolhapur and since, it has been called as ‘Maharaja’ chappal meaning the footwear of a king.
